THE RIDESHARE COMPANY WINS FIVE FIRST PLACE ADWHEEL AWARDS
WINDSOR, Conn. – October 13, 2008– In recognition of their excellence in public transportation marketing and promotions, The Rideshare Company took home five First Place AdWheel Awards at a special ceremony held on October 6 during the 2008 American Public Transportation Association Annual Meeting and EXPO in San Diego. Competing in Group 5 for the awards, a group reserved for APTA Business Members, Rideshare won four awards in the “Print” category: the first for its Direct Mail piece, “Easy Come, Easy Go;” the second for its Easy Street® Poster; the third for its clever “Gum Ball Logo” promotion; and the fourth for its Illustrated Bus, known as the “RockCats Van.” The fifth award was in the “Electronic” category, and was bestowed upon Rideshare for its Internet Home Page at www.rideshare.com.
“We were ecstatic to learn that our marketing efforts were recognized by such a prominent, well-known organization such as APTA,” said Nanci Fitzgerald, VP of Business Development for The Rideshare Company. “As an added bonus, we were only notified of four initial awards that we had won, and were pleasantly surprised to learn of the fifth award while we were attending the conference.”
The purpose of the annual AdWheel Awards ceremony is to recognize APTA member organizations and business members for excellence in public transportation advertising, communication, marketing, and promotions. Each year, participating members compete in four main categories, which include Print, Electronic, Campaign, and Special Event.
